~*~*~*~*~

Last round at the Vinci household, Leah and Grace mercifully grew up from very troublesome toddlers into children who hopefully wouldn't exhaust their parents quite as much as they aged. Different personalities quickly asserted themselves in the girls...Grace was a sweet, social, helpful girl, and Leah was a grouchy tomboy spitfire. Pumpkin and Cinnamon went to live out their golden years with Imelda, and Fiona and Enzo entered their golden years with a transition into elderhood. Sugar and Spice grew up and were added to the adoption pool, and Salt and Pepper quickly replaced them as the newest kittens in the household. Will this round be quite as crazy? Perhaps.

Fiona and Enzo, despite being somewhat old for the parents of young children, stayed in close contact with their girls and were very involved in their lives. They saw clearly that children kept you young from their siblings Caitlin and Paolo, but parenting twins at such a late age did take its toll on them.

The girls were mercifully more independent now, Fiona and Enzo were grateful to note, and they frequently had friends over...including their cousins, like Gina. Grace was charactaristically more social and enjoyed the company of the neighborhood children while Leah typically stayed indoors, sniffing that she didn't like all the dumb kids in the neighborhood.

Despite their differences, the girls remained intensely close, to their parents' surprise. Fiona supposed the bond of being twins was stronger than the differences they had from one another.

The cozy house was about to get a little busier. Fiona was delighted to have another litter of two born to Roux. She dubbed these Margarita and Mojito, after two of her favorite drinks.

Of course, it wasn't long until the older kittens, Salt and Pepper, aged into beautiful adult cats, which of course meant...

That it was time for them to be put up for adoption to a good home. Fiona hated this part about breeding, but she made sure that only the best homes would be considered for her kitties. After so many years, she had some pull with the pound.

And it was no rest for the weary for Roux and Brownie, whom Fiona encouraged to try again for kittens right away. She was getting old, and she really wanted to reach her goal of properly raising 20 kittens in her lifetime. Her tally so far was only 7, with 2 kittens now waiting in the wings to grow up. She wasn't sure she'd ever be able to make it!

But Fiona couldn't be worried about her animal babies for too long because her human babies were about to grow up. She and Enzo planned a big sixteenth birthday party for the girls and invited all of their relatives and neighbors to celebrate.

Grace grew up into a very fitting and studious haircut.

She decided that with all the brains she had, she could definitely make a fortune in this world. It would go even faster if she could find a spry sugar daddy and learn from his wisdom while simultaneously enjoying a luxurious life. She wasn't petty, but she was an old soul, and she definitely thought that the salt-and-pepper-haired success of an older man was an extreme turnon.

Leah grew up in her characteristic pigtails and looked much the same as she did when she was a child. The only difference was that the boys in the neighborhood were definitely going to have a harder time seeing her as a tomboy, for various reasons...

She thought she might like to settle down in a comfortable family unit. But not TOO comfortable, of course. She needed to find a man who afforded her the freedom to do what she wanted but stand behind her and help her in a crisis. And maybe if they had some kids, that would be okay too.

After some teenage makeovers, the girls felt more at home in their new skins with their new styles, and the world was totally their oyster...especially until their party was over.

They all had a good smustle with their older sister, Imelda, and the young and old alike kept the party rocking until the early dawn hours.

The only thing that rained on their parade was when the cops showed up to break up the party, though Fiona and Enzo couldn't figure out who had reported them for noise since almost the entire block was already there.

But, the girls went to bed exhausted and happy, and when they woke up in the morning, they were ready to think about some serious life decisions. Leah thought that with her new interest in family, she out to get involved in education. After all, she wasn't going to let some school board tell her how her potential future children should be taught. She wanted to make the rules herself! And ever-logical Grace decided that she needed some funds pronto and that, while she was young and fit, a career in sports might be the way to do that. She was already a killer volleyball player, so why not shoot for gold?

Both girls dove into trying to improve themselves in ways that would be helpful to their future careers. It took Grace hardly any time at all on the treadmill to get fit as a fiddle.

Leah, meanwhile, worked on her debating skills. No one would show her up when it came to arguing ideas! She would be irresistible...able to win any argument ever.

Fiona, somewhat saddened to see her girls getting older and needing her less, took comfort in her furry babies. Roux was pregnant, and she had one litter of just a single kitten. Fiona was delighted, as always, for the new addition.

That day, they welcomed Marmalade Vinci into the cathouse.

[[Author's Notes: Sigh, Grace and Leah are so much fun. They have SUCH different personalities, but they really get along well and love one another. I realize Enzo was pretty much non-existent in this entry, but that's because he's gotten old and boring. :) Fiona has her cats, the girls have their crap, and Enzo pretty much paints and writes novels all day. I really have doubts that Fiona will ever achieve her LTW, but I'm going to try. It's a pretty insane LTW, sigh. Maxis, why didn't you make it ten? That would be so much more reasonable. I don't have much else to say about this house, but I have one blooper for you.

Blooper:
That looks...not exactly my definition of "fit," Enzo. It looks more like "concentration camp."]]

I'm really glad you got two nice reasonable lifetime wants from two nice and reasonable young ladies! Good luck on Fiona's LTW... it really is a drag, but after these two grow up, you're halfway there. Maybe you should breed some kittens in other houses and put them up for adoption so Fiona can grab them.

I have started thinking about your idea of adopting kittens, raising them, then giving them up. Might be the only way. I think I'm going to have to get rid of Roux and Brownie too, as they're getting beyond breeding years. :'( Maybe another fam will adopt them and be nice to them. Or maybe Imelda can take them too.

A combination of own breeding and adopting kittens or puppies might be best. I think about doing that for my Gerd who has that LTW.

So far, it's kind of a nightmare. The best setup I've come up with for breeding is the one that Alain and Meadow Beaumont have in the Beaumont C house (I'm blogging that next, so you'll see it). Fiona was my first with this LTW, and I had no idea how difficult it would be. O.o The kitties are coming out pretty cute, though, which is a nice bonus.
