The Villaloboses (D) - Round 10
Nala Villalobos, Toddler Knowledge Sim, LTW Grow Up Well
~*~*~*~*~
~*~*~*~*~
Last round at the Villalobos household, Nala was born...the third and final Villalobos child. Zadie, the middle child, grew into a teenager and declared a fortune aspiration like her brother. Her room got a serious makeover from the pink explosion it had been when she was a child. Connor achieved his second LTW of becoming city planner and took up a position in the entertainment field next. Dot achieved her first LTW of becoming education minister and quickly got a position in business to work on her second ltw. She achieved that within a few days. The teens brought home friends almost every night, the family budget took a big shot in the arm from all the promotions, and Nala aged into a very grumpy and very neat toddler. This family is so fun! Let's check in with them this round.
The first thing that happened to the Villaloboses was a very fortunate decision on Dorothea's part, at her new job. Being a former educator, her sensible head made for a very intelligent business mind. Her recommendation to the mayor earned her and her family $35,000 simoleons!
The house full of very driven sims, Zadie too was striving for a goal. It didn't involve multi-million dollar seaports, but it did involve getting fit. She spent an entire month working out constantly so that she could really get in shape. She wasn't concerned too much about impressing boys or excelling in sports, but she did want to be healthy.
Her campaign paid off, and she was soon fit as a fiddle. It felt good to be in perfect shape...especially for a perfectionist.
It also felt good for her to be able to good-naturedly bully her friends...like Marc Beaumont, who had the perfect head for noogie-ing.
After many, many cold hours at the robotics bench, Connor finally earned his gold robotics badge, which meant that even outside of work, he could keep earning money for his family.
Taye even got a job in the athletic career because it paid a decent wage. The family wasn't OBSESSED with money, per se, but they'd had so darn little of it when the family was just beginning that they'd all developed a habit of working hard and hoarding...a habit that was quickly fattening their bank account and providing a means for the children to go to university without taking out thousands of dollars of loans.
Zadie didn't work, yet, but she did work on improving her skills...like smustling. That was a VERY important skill for a teenager to have!
Time passed calmly in the busy house, and soon it was time for Nala to have her next birthday. Dorotea held her littlest little girl up to the birthday cake, and she seemed transformed before their eyes.
Dorothea realized her baby wasn't her little baby any more. She was a school-aged child. It was a hard realization since Dot knew that she wouldn't be able to have any more children in this lifetime. Her family had been everything to her, and it was definitely heartbreaking to see her kids growing up and approaching the time to move out and on with their lives. She tried to push the thoughts away and sliced up a big slab of cake for Nala.
When Zadie acquiesced to her little sister's begging for help with her hair, the whole family realized (after looking at Nala with her hair back in perfect cornrows), that she took after her father more than any of the other children.
She did, however, inherit her mother's nose. :p
Nala, not being a terribly nice sim, felt no compunction about taking cash off of Taye's money trees. Taye, being a very nice young man, let her. He had a job now anyway. Let her have forty bucks once in a while.
She also had no compunction about waking up in the middle of the night, dressing in her gym clothes, and going out to play soccer, no matter what time it was or what season or how many times Dot threatened pneumonia if she kept it up. She was...spunky.
Another reason Taye didn't mind about the cash so much was that he had other plans...big plans. It was finally time for him to head off to college, and he and his parents were supremely pleased that he managed to rack up over four thousand simoleons worth of grant money toward his education. The family of money hoarders rejoiced...and then they cried. The first member of the family to leave the house!
Taye stopped to give his little sister an affectionate noogie before heading out the door to the waiting taxi, the family seeing him off.
Bye, Taye! See you at Sim State!
Life continued pretty much as normal in the household, though everyone felt the hole that Taye's absence left. Zadie continued to bring home friends all the time. [Pictured above: Grace Vinci]
Nala seemed to pick up the family tradition and began bringing home friends too. It seemed the Villalobos house was never complete without several children around who didn't live there. [Pictured above: Bijou Beaumont]
It was a struggle for Dot to get Nala to say goodbye to her friends and sit down to study. Nala HATED to study. She hated it with a fiery passion. She didn't hate her mom for making her do it, but she REALLY wished her mom would get cool and go play some soccer with her instead. Homework was L-A-M-E.
Connor dealt with the leaving of his son for university with his trademark stoicism. Though everyone knew that he, too, missed Taye like crazy. He managed to keep going with his career, though (no shocker there), and reached the top of the entertainment career track. He didn't think he would switch careers anymore. He and Dot were both getting old, and sooner than later, they would be retiring. They'd both have a nice pension from their current jobs, so he simply stuck and enjoyed the ride.
Zadie managed to max her creativity skill without even trying...she still simply LOVED to paint. It was her favorite pastime, and it had the added bonus of being her contribution to the family income. Anything that killed two birds with one stone was exactly Zadie's kind of activity.
And finally, the littlest Villalobos got her very own bedroom instead of the water closet next to the kitchen. Taye's room was redecorated in a luscious mauve for Nala, who love-love-loved everything about her new bedroom. Except for the fact that the soccer net wouldn't fit in there.
The teeny-tiny room where her crib and playroom had existed became what it was always meant to be: a powder room for guests. Finally, every room in the Villalobos household was complete and exactly what it was supposed to be. Connor laughed and kissed Dot as she looked in. "Only took us twenty years."
[[Author's Notes: Okay, I have no clue what it is but I love Dot, I love Zadie, and I love this family. I have unreasonable amounts of love for them, and I have no clue why. They are just generally fantastic and wonderful and charming. I can't wait to see how Nala will throw a wrench into the works of the previously smooth-running Villalobos household. I have a feeling that Nala will totally be a daddy's little girl and get away with murder. Just a hunch. There's nothing I left out in this entry, so what you see is what you get, and I have nothing much more to add. Do have a blooper and a non-blooper for you, though!
Bloopers:
Dot is trying out for a new guinness world record: most uncomfortable child-holding position. // My non-blooper: I still think Zadie is so pretty! Especially with the new graphics! Wait until I get a pic with the new default eyes! Squee! ]]

I too have unreasonable amounts of love for this family! They definitely deserve all the prosperity they have right now. Nala is hilarious, you've given her such a great personality... the soccer net jokes are silly.
Now that you've taught me how to package my bébés, I'll have to upload a few of them for you. I am TOTALLY digging the idea of trading sims for townification. :D I am really looking forward to seeing Nala growing up...and to seeing how she does in college with ACR!
And regarding soccer? I'm telling you, that girl would SLEEP in the soccer net if she could.
Hope your night at work goes well. <3
ohhhh, love the new banner! I miss Santiago and Roison
Thank you!!! I love it too! And sigh, I know. They'd be cute to package and upoad. Wonder if I ever could.
Also, hey, do I have to package sims before they die, or can I do it after the fact?
Yeah, you can package sims after their dead. Next time we have girls night I can show you how to.
Yay, I can't wait! For either!
Looking forward to new default eyes! I have used mine so long so I nearly forget that I have them!
Thanks! I really didn't realize that Maxis' defaults weren't great until I got new ones. :)
Zadie is really pretty. I like this family too...so much activity.
I read back over this, and there really was a lot going on! I didn't realize because their house never feels hectic, just pleasantly entertaining.
