~*~*~*~*~

Last time at the Vinci house, Silvio and Beth got busy with the baby-makin'! Beth managed to get in peak physical condition to aid in her LTW despite popping out a second baby and spending most of her free time at home potty training Ruby. Silvio helped too...though more with the baby-makin' part than the potty training part. Let's see how this new little family is doing this round, shall we?

The fall season started off well for the adults in the household. Both of them were making slow but steady progress in their chosen career fields. Silvio was promoted to International Sim of Mystery (a job in which his neurotic dedication to order and cleanliness surely helped him), and Beth was promoted to Assistant Coach (a job in which her new-found mother's ability to manage people who act like children certainly did the same).

Beth was even trying to make some new friends with co-workers she'd just met.

Somewhat surprisingly, given her rather brusque personality and somewhat cruel sense of humor, she seemed to be succeeding!

Of course, there was always some tending to Ruby to do. Ruby had been sort of an oops-baby, but that didn't mean they couldn't do a good job raising her. She was a lot nicer to be around now that the possibility of a poopy diaper was no longer in the cards.

More promotions quickly followed. Beth learned an important lesson that day: shocking your co-workers with a joy buzzer is clearly a good way to endear yourself in the workplace and cement potential promotions.

Silvio learned that when you aren't busy being barefoot and pregnant all the time, it's a lot easier to achieve your lifetime goals. He came home that fall with his dream job: head of the SCIA.

Of course, as soon as he had the job, he realized it wasn't what he really wanted to do with his life. What he really wanted to do was... be on STAGE. Yes. The entertainment business was the life for him and his measly one nice point.

Ruby observed her parents and learned important life lessons: like that throwing a water balloon at someone was a great way to make friends. Fortunately, her victim this time was the nice-challenged Caroline Beaumont, so it all worked out.

Soon it was time for the youngest bundle of joy to grow up into a pooping, screaming, toilet-playing machine.

She grew up into a lovely young lady who was a good mix of her parents, and she was shockingly nice coming from a father with only one nice point.

Perhaps she was to be the odd one in the family who didn't think pranking was a nice way to make friends. She was almost better suited to be a popularity sim than her older sister, but her friendly, outgoing nature certainly wouldn't hurt her in her eventual hunt for a mate.

Skill training began in earnest once more in the Vinci household. Pearl was bright and learned quickly, though perhaps it also helped that her parents were a bit more experienced this time around.

Silvio had some tough decisions to make at work, but he seemed to be making the right choices. In a fit of jealousy, he attacked another gang of pirates and secured for himself and his family a hefty $32,000 bonus. It really helped build up their depleted finances. After building and furnishing their large house, they were running on fumes.

The influx of money gave Silvio enough aspiration points to choose a secondary aspiration. Romance seemed like a good one. Now that the girls were a little older, maybe he and Beth could revisit some of their romantic bedroom activities.

Fully trained with all the necessary toddler skills, Pearl was ready to have her next birthday.

Silvio quickly realized when he looked at his second daughter that he would need a very large stick to keep the boys away once she turned into a teenager.

[[Author's Notes: This house is pretty fun to play. I think the girls turned out pretty cute despite having two parents with kind of weird features. I think Pearl is going to turn out gorgeous, though as you'll see from one of my bloopers, she looked downright SCARY when she first transitioned to toddlerhood. I don't know if any other kids are in the works for these two. I might just let them woohoo autonomously, and if risky woohoo decides they need another child, so be it. A few bloopers for you...

Bloopers:
The horror of Pearl's infant-to-toddler transition. AHHH! // Prettiest nanny evar. <3 I kind of want to extract her from game and reinsert her as an adult townie. // So...what is it you want again? ]]

Silvio Vinci, Adult Fortune Sim, LTW Become Prestidigitator

Beth Thayer, Adult Popularity Sim, LTW Become Hall of Famer

~*~*~*~*~

Last time at the Vinci house, Silvio and Beth moved into an unfinished house that they would eventually call their own. Their primary goal in life at this point was to excel as far as they could in their respective careers to make enough money to finish the house. Unexpectedly, however, they got pregnant, and baby Ruby was born at the end of the round. Silvio and Beth barely had enough money to put wallpaper on the walls and carpet in the baby's room, but they managed. Beth finally managed to find a job in the athletic career, to reach her lifetime goal, but having had Ruby, she was stuck at home. How will this brand new family do this round? We'll see.

Though she was off on maternity leave, Beth knew that she had to be in peak physical condition to eventually reach her goal of becoming a hall of famer. Thus, when Silvio was at work and baby Ruby was napping, she spent most of her time working out.

Baby Ruby wasn't to be a baby much longer, though. Shortly into the summer season, she had a birthday and grew up to display even more of her mother's features: gray eyes, reddish-brown hair, and a dark skintone that made her one of the most unique children in Rosebud.

She was a playful, neat little girl, who also loved to make new friends, just like her mother.

Silvio and Beth were delighted, even though Ruby was definitely a bit of an "oops" baby. They were so in love, and their little family was just beautiful.

Of course, they weren't the world's best parents, and sometimes their celebration led to neglect of little Ruby, but she didn't seem to suffer the worse for it.

Both Silvio and Beth took time out of their schedules to teach their little daughter the necessary skills in life.

They weren't really bad parents, just sort of clueless when it came to exactly how much attention a child needed. They'd never planned to have Ruby, and she caught them by surprise. They were happy to have her, but it was definitely a steep learning curve of parenting.

The learning curve of "using protection during woohoo" unfortunately took a little longer to kick in. Before they knew it, Silvio and Beth's frequent romancing of one another led to another bun in Beth's oven.

Despite her ponderous belly, Beth would be damned if she'd give up her goal of becoming a hall of famer. She still kept to a rigorous exercise regimen, even when her belly was too big to allow her to do sit-ups, jump rope, or yoga.

Soon, it was little Ruby's birthday, though, and that was cause for celebration. She'd finally be a little bit more independent, which Silvio and Beth gratefully anticipated since they would have another crying/pooping/eating machine in the house soon.

They were *really* excited. Thankfully, Ruby was too young to understand exactly from whence their excitement came.

She grew up into a serene-yet-startling looking young lady, with her peaceful face and unexpected pale gray eyes. She too was glad she wouldn't have to rely on her parents for all her needs anymore. No more screaming in a crib for hours until she was let out!

Beth continued on her exercise schedule well into her third trimester and finally managed to maximize her body skill points. She'd done it!

Unfortunately, she'd also worked herself right into labor. Don't give me that look, Beth, you did it to yourself.

A beautiful baby girl with a pale skintone and Beth's gray eyes was born, and due to her pretty coloring, they decided to name her Pearl. With a little bit of experience ahead of them, Silvio and Beth felt like they could do this baby thing with confidence this time around. And thankfully, now Ruby could help out.

[[Author's Notes: I really think this family is fun. Silvio and Beth are hilariously neglectful parents, but they're both kind of self-centered, so that makes sense to me. I forget whether Ruby has red hair or brown hair, and it's kind of hard to tell in these pictures, but I kind of hope red. I don't remember whether Beth's hair is brown or red...though I think it's brown. If Ruby DOES have red hair, it must come from Caitlin (Silvio's mama), though then Beth would have to have a recessive red gene in there somewhere... ah, I dunno. **EDIT:** Judging from the eyebrows, Beth has brown hair and Ruby has red. Huh. Beth seems to be a storehouse of recessive genes, yay! ** I'm not good at mysteries. Anyway, yeah. These guys amuse me kind of a lot. The good thing is that with all the maternity leave, Beth has really been able to get up all her skills so when she goes back to work, she should get promoted pretty rapidly...especially since she's also on the phone all the time and has like 18 billion friends. Only one blooper for you!

Bloopers:
This picture looks creepy by itself. But when you know the backstory behind it, it becomes kind of funny. Beth and Silvio were getting ready to "casual sit" on the couch and get their woohoo on when she jumped up and had to go puke from the pregnancy. He followed her over there like, "But... um... are you done? Can we woohoo now?" ]]

The Vincis (E) - Round 11

Silvio Vinci, Adult Fortune Sim, LTW Become Prestidigitator

Beth Thayer, Adult Popularity Sim, LTW Become Hall of Famer

~*~*~*~*~

Last time we saw Silvio and Beth, they were sharing a house on Sim State University campus with Neal Cleary and his betrothed, Tessa Ramirez. They knew after a short while that they wanted to be together, and when they graduated college, they purchased a house together with their little bit of cash. Let's see how this brand new couple fares in their new home.

Silvio stood in front of his new home, surveying it with a mix of pride and annoyance. He and Beth had pooled their funds, but still, they could barely afford the unfurnished house that didn't even have siding or windows yet. He was happy to own something but impatient to have a complete house.

They had a little bit of cash left over from the purchase of the home to buy some few things: kitchen appliances, a kitchen table, a bed, a toilet, things that were required for the simple purpose of living. Beth, too, shared Silvio's mixed feelings. Perhaps they were being a little ungrateful for what they had, but not even owning a couch put a tiny damper on their enthusiasm.

The very first thing Silvio did in their new home (after their cheap dinner of lunch meat sandwiches) was to finally propose to Beth. He wanted them to be married good and proper if they were going to live together, and this was the first step. He didn't have a ring to give her, but the gesture was meant with all due seriousness.

Beth, of course, accepted. She loved Silvio simply and earnestly, and she wanted to be with him. So they might have to rough it for a little while...who cared? They did, a little, but not enough to deter her from marrying him.

They went on a brief shopping "spree" to a local discount store and managed to get some new clothes for their new life together.

Silvio had many pairs of jeans, so he simply got a few new shirts to augment his wardrobe, and the two of them felt brand new and ready to begin their lives.

Of course, they did want to celebrate a little bit first. The animal print bed simply seemed to demand that they do, and there was no reason not to.

After a while, the two of them both took jobs in the adventurer field, even though they weren't particularly interested in the work. They were desperate for cash, and even with Silvio's painting ability, they were still only able to purchase the fewest things for their living room, like a bookshelf, couch, and coffee table. They were careful to make good decisions with their purchases, buying quality things even if they were more expensive because they wanted the items to last.

Beth had to admit, she was enjoying her job, even if it wasn't ultimately what she wanted to do. The outfit was awesome, for one thing, and she was meeting loads of interesting people.

Unfortunately, she seemed to have come down with an illness in the empty house. She chalked it up to cold, uncarpeted floors and living off of grilled cheese sandwiches and lunch meat.

One night, however, she woke up in the middle of the night with a strange feeling in her belly. She seemed to be gaining weight despite all reasonable evidence that she should be thinning, if anything. It was then that she realized Silvio and her celebration of their new home resulted in something entirely unexpected: she was pregnant.

In all truth, it was a terrible time for a pregnancy. They couldn't even afford carpet, let alone a baby. Silvio began trying to think of better ways to improve his position as a hostage negotiator. He brought a colleague home from work one night. He tried to make friends with the man, knowing he had some pull, but it didn't result in anything more than extra money being spent on a dinner they couldn't afford. Silvio and Beth continued to go to work, Beth even into the last trimester of her pregnancy. They hoarded every penny they could.

One night, the time finally came for their little baby to enter the world. Into a room with no wallpaper or carpet was born a baby girl, named Ruby, with her mother's coloration of skin, hair, and eyes.

Silvio and Beth had saved up enough to do a little bit of decorating in honor of baby Ruby's arrival. They started with her room, giving her a crib and at least some real floors and walls, instead of sub-floor and drywall.

There was money left over, so they decided to finally start making their house look more like a home. A stone floor and a cranberry-colored wall treatment hit the kitchen and dining room.

The living room got a dark teal carpet and paneling. It was cheap, but Silvio and Beth chose carefully to get something tasteful.

The front entrance hallway got its own stone flooring, the most expensive purchase they made but totally worth it.

The master bedroom and master bath even got a makeover...the most expensive in the house. Silvio and Beth figured they were the ones who worked so hard to earn the money, and Ruby was still too tiny to appreciate it, so why not?

Silvio thought his new baby daughter was a pretty little thing, even if she did eat and cry and poop a lot. He made an effort to spend time with her now and then and wondered if she would have her mother's looks too.

Ultimately, life didn't change TOO much for Silvio. Since Beth needed to stay home with the baby, he continued going to work and fighting for promotions. Every time he got a promotion or a bonus, the money went straight into the house.

After a while, the house even got some outer decoration, in the form of some shingled siding that Beth declared "bold and exciting," some railing, and a front walk.

After a few more paydays, they managed to furnish the office better as well. The house was finally starting to look like a real home. 90% of their rooms had some sort of planned flooring and wall treatment!

Beth, sick of being stuck in the house with only a babbling infant for company, went back to work with the aid of the local nanny service, and with her next promotion came the money they needed to finally finish off the house.

The second bathroom was finally put in, and Silvio and Beth were jubilant. Sure, they didn't have all the things they WANTED, but at least they weren't living in a house that looked like it was still in the process of being constructed anymore.

Later that week came an even better stroke of luck: there was a job open in Beth's chosen field, and she snapped it up before anyone else even had the chance. She was going to be a Hall of Famer no matter what.

She started training right away. After all, just because the house was furnished didn't mean and and Silvio had everything they ever wanted. More money meant more good things, and together, they could really build the home of their dreams.

[[Author's Notes: Beth's pregnancy was totally unexpected and unplanned. I merely took her off birth control when she exited college, and I sort of forgot I'd done that when I had them woohoo. Besides, with ACR, it seems harder for risky woohoo to take. Go figure that my poorest starting couple would get preggers almost instantly. Beth and Silvio seem pretty indifferent to Ruby, which would be sad if she were a real baby but is kind of funny in simlandia. I enjoyed playing this house because I'm sick of all the families that are rich as hell all the time. I have a few bloopers for you!

Bloopers:
Nice priorities, Silvio. You don't even own a crib. // Poor Ruby, she doesn't stand a chance. Her mother doesn't have any better priorities than Silvio! ]]
