Last round at the Tanaka house, Daisy got knocked up and had a second child, Akio. Yoshi grew up well into a child. Daisy also earned her silver gardening badge and took a brief foray into the world of plantsimism. Aki was mostly an uninteresting old guy. Let's check in on them this round!

We begin this round by checking in on Yoshi. What is he up to? Oh, only being the perfect child.

If I hadn't pre-rolled him, I'd have made Yoshi a fortune sim. He constantly wants to sell lemonade, and he's good at it!

Not only is he entertaining himself, he's also learning about business, earning money, and making friends with people in the neighborhood. I love you, Yoshi.

What else does he do? Well, he works hard at his homework, and when he wants to up his fun level again...

...he simply indulges in a little perfect big brother behavior. I died of cute here, mmkay? This was in his wants panel all the time. :')

Oh yeah, and he's also a totally well-adjusted super genius. I. love. this. kid. Meanwhile, what is Akio doing with his time?

Playing in the toilet.

Also, getting a sex education lesson way too early. This is super parenting form on the part of Aki and Daisy. I imagine their conversation about having sex in front of the baby to mimic that of Peter and Lois' in Family Guy: "Don't worry, honey, he'll just think I'm hurting you." :p

OH YES YOU ARE!!! :D

Daisy's super-ovaries and Aki's still apparently very high virility rate mean she's got another bun in the oven, yay! I feel like Aki's making up for lost time with Tara...

Pop #1!

Pop #2, and a happy pop-up! I really like it when the other children are already children and sort of able to care for themselves before new babies are born. It makes life a lot easier. So without further ado, a hasty birthday party commenced!

This room: apparently not designed in a comfortable way for sim logic. Daisy and Yoshi cheered from the other side of the couch.

AHAHAHA, he looks kind of like a nerd. I like it. :') He did grow up well, though, which is amazing given all the toilet water he must have inevitably sucked out of the paws on those pajamas.

No discernible point to this picture other than the adorableness of the sibs. They have a great relationship score already thanks to Yoshi being Super Big Brother, so I think these two will end up having a fun childhood together.

Ohai, Daisy. That face...what? You're going into labor? "Shooflee!!" You know, you picked the perfect spot. Right at the top of the staircase in the middle of a narrow hallway. I totally would have chosen to give birth there too. Stellar job.

Buuuut, I forgive her because BUNDLE OF ADORABLENESS! It's another boy, and they decided to name him Nobu, after the lizard-skinned, one-armed, intractable man in Memoirs of a Geisha. It means "to prolong or stretch." I refrain from making a joke here. I hope that Nobu's namesake doesn't doom him to a life of tragedy.

So far, it looks like he'll be pretty well loved at least. Aww, proud papa. I'm so happy Aki has finally achieved some happiness. :)

[[Author's Notes: For some reason, I had to do this entry in this style. It's fun for me to sometimes do some commentary other than narrating. Plus, I feel kind of sarcastic this morning, and that's just how this entry came out. :p Daisy's LTW is the reason I'm letting her have another kid. Whenever I see that six grandkids want, I always think... ugh, well, guess she'll have three kids because at least then each of them only has to have two kids. I'm not sure this is sound logic, but oh well. It makes sense in my head. Two bloopers for you. :)

Bloopers:
AHAHAHAHAHAHA IN THAT TINY HOUSE? Shyeah right! // This is not a blooper, but it is very important. Do you know why? FIRST GOOPY SIGHTING EVER IN MY GAME! :D ]]

Last round at Aki's house, Aki came up against more hard luck. First he'd lost Tara, and then he lost his job. He decided he was in serious need of a vacation and quickly booked a flight to Twiikii Island. While there, he managed to meet a beautiful island woman named Daisy McCarthy, and he quickly fell in love with her in the romantic setting. He proposed, and she moved back to Rosebud with him, unaware that she was already carrying his child from their vacation fling. A short while later, their first son, Yoshi, was born, followed by Aki's birthday into elderhood. Let's see how this new family manages this round.

Daisy knew almost right away this time what was the cause of her nausea. After having her first child with Aki, Yoshi, she knew the symptoms of pregnancy. So she was pregnant again. It was shocking how fertile she seemed to be, yet she couldn't say she was unhappy. Nor was Aki when she broke the news to him.

Aki, for whatever reason, seemed to have turned around his bad luck permanently. Having returned to his law enforcement career upon coming back home to Rosebud, he now seemed to be experiencing the benefits of experience. The bonuses he achieved would put a nice chunk of change in the college funds for Yoshi and the new baby.

Daisy, a stay-at-home mom, spent a lot of her days and evenings in the lavish greenhouse Aki had built for her. While she appreciated how much money and effort he'd put into it, and also how quickly she became familiar with the skill of gardening, it was more than she could take care of alone.

It was especially difficult to maintain with this pregnancy. For some reason, she found herself constantly in pain, exhausted, hungry, and ALWAYS having to pee with this pregnancy. It was far harder than the walk in the park it had been before Yoshi was born. She almost had to consign herself to bedrest.

Soon, she began to show in earnest, and she couldn't have been happier that the miracle of childbirth was happening to her again. Even if it did mean that her back hurt and she could eat a horse at 9 a.m. At least the morning sickness was over!

It would be nice to have a baby in the house again, especially once Yoshi had his first birthday. He was now a rambunctious, playful toddler who kept his mommy and daddy on their toes.

Aki found himself enjoying his son even more now that he was a toddler. Sure, babies were cute, but Aki loved being able to interact with his son...his FIRST son...despite Aki's own age. It occurred to Aki that everything in life happened for a reason. He and Tara had never had children, and perhaps that was good. If it weren't for that sad split, he never would have met Daisy and had his little boy. As for Yoshi, he thrived on all the attention his daddy gave him.

Aki took to helping Daisy tend the garden, and when he did, he understood why she said it was so big. He promised her he would narrow it down to a more reasonable size right away. After all, they weren't trying to feed the entire town, just their family.

His plans for renovation would have to wait, though. One sunny summer afternoon, Daisy went into labor.

The result was a beautiful baby boy with Aki's skintone, black hair and brown eyes. They named him Akio, in honor of his father.

Shockingly, later that month, they had a visitor they never expected: the Repo Man. It seemed that between trying desperately to take care of Yoshi and the garden AND being slowed down by Daisy's rough pregnancy, the Tanakas had managed to forget to pay some of their bills.

They'd had plenty of money to pay their bills, but it made Aki realize that he was needed more at home, with his family, than at work. He quickly called up and retired, earning himself a healthy pension.

The second wake-up call of the season came when Daisy, after spending so much time in the massive garden, seemed to pick up some sort of plant disease that turned her skin green!

Fortunately, the local matchmaker and gypsy woman had a potion that would cure Daisy, but Aki set to work right away diminishing the size of the greenhouse to a more manageable size.

Daisy was unharmed by the incident save for the awful green outfit she got rid of immediately after returning to her former self.

These troublesome matters settled, Aki and Daisy had better and happier things to concentrate on. For one, their baby boy was about to become a child.

Yoshi grew up into a child that could only be described as "beautiful," despite his Y-chromosome. [[He also inherited a more appropriate skintone. I think it suits him so much better, as the previous one was lighter than either of his parents.]]

It was a big day for Akio as well, as he was about to enter the diapered crawling phase Yoshi had just left behind.

It was difficult to tell whether he favored his father or his mother most in terms of looks, but the fact that he was healthy was all that mattered to his parents...

...even if he was a little bit of a grump.

[[Author's Notes: Yay, I love new families, and I'm so relieved I fixed Yoshi's skintone. This was the first house I played where I attempted to change skintone color, so there was a little bit of hilarity you may notice where Yoshi's body color changed while his face remained pale. After a bit of research, I discovered that a trip to the mirror could correct this, and now he looks like a real boy again. I know his skintone is totally not even similar to his original one, but the way I sort of look at it is this: if their skintone came out all borked up because of bad geneticizing, then I reserve the right to choose something I want instead, and I wanted something that at least sort of reflected Daisy's genes. This family is loads of fun now that Aki and Tara aren't trying to suffer out an existence together. I may let them have one more child; not sure. Guess we'll see next round. :)

Bloopers:
This is why there was no transition picture for Yoshi's birthday to toddler. He looked like a little chimp! Also, Aki looks like he's having the time of his life, doesn't he? // The 'hood penguin is obviously confused about what hemisphere he's in...it's not cold in the summer in Rosebud, silly! ]]

The Tanakas (D) - Round 11

Aki Tanaka, Adult Popularity Sim, 2nd LTW Become Captain Hero

~*~*~*~*~

Last time we saw Aki, he and Tara had a nasty breakup, and the two of them both moved out into their own separate places. Aki moved into a mod apartment that suited a bachelor. He was saddened at losing Tara and tried to fill the void by bringing loads of people home from work, making lots of new friends. He finally managed to get to the top of the law enforcement career track and even got himself a little post-breakup woohoo. Let's see how he does this round.

Of all the things he loved about being Captain Hero, Aki had to admit that the method of travel was the best.

He loved going to work every day, helping people, doing his best to save the world. Unfortunately, being a super hero wasn't as easy as he thought it might be. Despite his hard work and best intelligent judgment, he was fired after a scandal involving a power plant/robot situation.

He could not believe that HE, Aki, the perpetual A+ student and all-around hard worker, could get fired for something as minor as a killer robot and nuclear meltdown... okay, so he understood where his superiors were coming from, but it didn't take the sting out of losing the job he'd worked so hard to get.

After a good long session of pouting, stuffing his face, and watching stupid comedy movies on tv, Aki finally peeled himself off the couch and started looking for another job. To his surprise, there was a position open in a nearby town's law enforcement team. He quickly snatched it up, but he told them he couldn't start for a while yet. There was something important he needed to do.

With a sad but resolute heart, Aki packed up his bags and headed for the sunny Twiikii Isles. If anyone needed a vacation, he was that person.

Within a few hours, he was sunning himself in front of the quiet surf, dozing and feeling the heat of the day and the spray of the salt water.

If the gorgeous cove in back of his hotel and some distracting sight-seeing couldn't take his mind off his worries, he didn't know what could. He was beginning to feel more human already.

The painful sunburn he acquired wasn't exactly the most relaxing thing he hoped for on his vacation, but that's what happened when you were so exhausted you fell asleep on the sand, he supposed.

After a nap and a cool shower, he headed out that evening to see some of the sights. The monkey temple, to his eyes, looked like one big opportunity for a prank. He wasn't normally the mischievous type, but what the heck - he was on vacation!

The monkey gods apparently did not appreciate his "offering" OR his sense of humor.

However, the best thing to ever happen to Aki so far in his life happened because of the attention drawn by the angry monkey temple. A local, an exotic brown-skinned beauty named Daisy, came trotting over to see why the temple was angry. Aki was immediately smitten. He talked shyly to Daisy for a while before saying goodnight to her, asking if he could call her for advice on local hangouts before his trip was over. He was elated when she said yes.

He continued to check out the island that week, going on a few tours.

Of course, they all ended disastrously, as seemed to be vacation karma.

The next day, Aki headed back to the beach, determined to even out his terrible-looking sunburn and return to looking like a somewhat normal human being instead of a boiled lobster.

With the aid of some strategic oiling and suntan lotioning, he managed to get a pretty decent looking tan. Even the locals think I look good, he thought. But it wasn't all the locals he was interested in impressing.

Later that night, he invited Daisy over to sit on the beach and enjoy some room service on his small balcony overlooking the ocean.

They enjoyed more than just dinner.

Afterward, they got up, got dressed, and took a midnight stroll on the beach. "Daisy, I can really see myself being with you," he stated, and saw how pleased she looked as she replied in kind.

"In fact," he continued, getting down on one knee, "I think I'd like you to come back to Rosebud to live with me...as my wife." He wasn't sure whether it was the moonlight or the ocean pounding gently on the shore or the soft coconut scent of her shampoo, but he knew he had to be with her.

To his shock, she agreed! It was beyond fast, but apparently they both felt the connection. Aki packed up the next day with Daisy in tow, and they headed back to Rosebud to begin their new life together.

Daisy came with a healthy chunk of change from the sale of her little beach house on Twiikii Island. She felt very strongly about family and was as charismatic as Aki knew her to be back on that moonlit beach.

She was a real sweetie too. Outgoing, playful, kind...she would be a great wife and an even better mother.

She was glad to get rid of her island duds...her job had required the grass skirt, and she was tired of the tickle of the strands around her ankles.

She couldn't hide the tattoo she got there, but she wouldn't have wanted to. It was part of her past and who she was, and she was happy to bring that part to her new life.

She and Aki settled into a comfortable domesticity. She couldn't really cook (she'd never had to), so he did most of the chef work. She was eager to learn, though, and studied constantly via books and the yummy channel.

Aki finally started his new job and was promoted almost immediately. And it turned out to be a good thing.

Aki had liked the fact that Daisy was younger than he was because it meant he might have a chance to have a child before he died. What he didn't realize was that his new family would start so fast! Apparently, a ring wasn't the only thing Aki had given Daisy that night at the bungalow!

Aki was as yet oblivious to Daisy's condition, and he kept going to work as usual, finally regaining his position as Captain Hero. Now he could relax a bit.

He even used the bonus to build Daisy a huge greenhouse. She was used to the warm, humid climate of the islands and mentioned that it would be much harder to garden in a place that was so cool half of the year. He took the hint and spoiled her.

"So I'm really looking forward to raising plants," Daisy commented at dinner one night. "And maybe a child. In, oh say, 8 or so months to be specific." She looked at him nervously. Aki was certainly shocked, but he was also delighted. So his family would begin earlier than he expected. Even better!

Daisy's belly began to show, and it made Aki realize something important: they'd never actually gotten married! They were living together, engaged, and had a child coming, but he felt it was important to make it legal.

He felt kind of silly at his age getting married for the first time, but he also felt wonderful. This was a step he and Tara had never taken because they never felt quite right about it. Everything about this was right. They only had a small exchange of rings in the kitchen one day, the symbolic exchange witnessed only by their impending little one.

Daisy continued to entertain herself during the day while Aki was at work by puttering around in her garden. She was beginning to think she'd been a bit too ambitious in planning the size of it. By the time she tended every plant, she was falling-down exhausted!

And then, one night, Aki felt a tug of pain in his back. Meadow Pederson, who was by for a visit, commented that he was starting to look his age.

Sure enough, he couldn't deny it any longer. Aki was an elder. He was going to be the oldest dad in Rosebud, but for the most part, he didn't care what people said. He'd waited a long time for this family.

And he didn't look that bad...he hoped. At least Daisy still seemed to find him attractive, and that was all that really mattered.

Frankly, at that moment, Daisy was busy with other concerns than her hubby's graying head.

That night, Daisy and Aki's son was born, with his mother's eyes and a grossly inappropriate skintone that will be fixed in the next entry. :p

Little Yoshi Tanaka joined the world.

The bachelor pad wasn't exactly child friendly, but Aki added on a room to be the nursery and little Yoshi's bedroom, and life went on with new vigor and new delight.

[[Author's Notes: So I just sort of acted impulsively with Aki this round. The poor old guy was getting, well, old, and he kept having wants for all these women (pretty much any one he met), but I didn't like any of the townies he kept meeting. I figured he could use a vacation, and I could bring home a vacation townie. I really like Daisy, and I think their kids will be lovely. Poor Yoshi was victim to the non-defaulted Kids In Technicolor skintones by Pooklet, so he will be fixed next time around. :) Also, I feel it necessary to mention that this child's name was by request of Liz, in honor of our marathon Mario girls' nights and her favorite character. Come back, Yosh! Got a few bloopers for you...

Bloopers:
Aki occasionally likes to be a douchebag for his own amusement. // Okay, okay! I'll get you a girl! // Long way to come to leave a date present. // Whut? I have no clue what he said that was so offensive. // What I imagine this tour guide to be thinking. ]]
