~*~*~*~*~

Last time we saw Dorotea and Connor, they were falling in love at University thanks to the gypsy matchmaker. Now they're starting their new lives together after college, poor in cash but rich in happiness.

The first thing they had to do in the new house, obviously, was christen it. Dot thought that perhaps some people would think marriage would come first, but she felt she'd waited long enough through all of college, and she wanted to woohoo with her fiancé in their new home in their new bed first thing. It felt right.

That night, they fell asleep happily in one another's arms, the smell of new paint in the air.

Shortly thereafter, they had a very small few family members over and exchanged vows in the front yard.

The wedding was beautiful, and so was Dorotea, and she couldn't have been happier to be marrying this man.

As for Connor, he couldn't help but think he'd completely lucked out. He'd gotten the sweetest girl in the world.

The wedding went off without a hitch, with happy guests all around.

It was a beautiful, memorable day, and Dot was so grateful for it to have been so beautiful.

Unfortunately, the sweetest girl in the world started to feel a little less than sweet a few days after the wedding. "Just what I need with all this stuff still to do in the house! Some kind of bug!" she exclaimed miserably, wandering out to the kitchen to make herself some soup.

It didn't take her long to realize that it wasn't a stomach bug at all - she was pregnant! It was a happy revelation, as she was a family sim through and through and couldn't wait to have a baby. It was a little earlier than she'd planned, but that was okay. It was still a blessing.

Connor figured that with a new little one on the way, he had better get employed as soon as possible. While he didn't want to be a bad influence, the highest paying job available was one in his preferred devious career track as a smuggler. He took it and headed off to work for his crazy hours.

The new work was pretty exhausting. He tried to take care of Dorotea during the day, but then he worked in the early morning. He fell asleep a lot.

Despite being pregnant, Dorotea felt wonderful. She was so delighted about the baby that it made her glow, gave her energy. She continued with her nature interest and even took some easy hikes in the early stages of her pregnancy. Once her belly began to expand more and more, though, she couldn't keep it up.

Soon, it was time, and in the wee hours of the morning, Dot started to have contractions.

With a panicking Connor in the background, Dot gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy.

He had his daddy's skin tone and the black hair of both his parents.

They decided to name their little gem Taye.

Early in his career, Connor was hit with an extreme situation that required making a choice when none of the options were attractive. He acted on instinct.

His instinct was wrong, and he had to demolish all of his chances for becoming a criminal mastermind in order to make sure he could go home to his wife and baby boy.

He was lucky, but he was still devastated. He needed a job, and he really wanted THAT job.

Taye was the only thing that could cheer him up, and he promised the little boy that they would make it just fine. They had to.

Fortunately, Dot had luck finding a job in her chosen career track. She got hired high up in the ranks as a University Guest Lecturer and became the breadwinner of the house for a little while as Connor stayed home with Taye.

What she didn't count on was the unexpected and completely shocking second pregnancy that quickly came on! She'd had no sickness and felt wonderful, even working a job and taking care of Taye. It was completely unplanned but still welcome. They'd wanted two children anyway, and now they had them, and they were close in age. Dot and Connor were still young, so what the heck. She happily settled in to her second pregnancy.

In the meantime, it had come time for little Taye's birthday. His Mommy and Daddy helped him blow out the candles.

He grew into a very snappy suit and a bald head, which seemed to fit the little gentleman.

He definitely looks as though he is going to take after his daddy.

Taye turned out to have a great personality as well, though he was a little bit sloppy. Nevertheless, Dot was thrilled to have such a sweet, good-natured toddler.

Connor managed to get his job back...or at least one like it, only now he was working for his former boss' competition. It was a dangerous business, but the satisfaction was too great for Connor to ignore.

So husband and wife swapped places again, and Dot stayed home on maternity leave while Connor went to work.

She loved spending time at home because she got to combine her two loves: family and education. Taye learned quickly under her loving tutelage.

It wasn't long before one night, after getting up from playing peek-a-boo with Taye, that Dot felt the next labor pains beginning. Connor wasn't home, so it was just Taye there to witness his sister's birth.

A beautiful little baby girl completed their family, lovely and mocha-skinned like her brother and father.

They had agreed to name her Zadie, and Dot felt that she finally had a whole family. It was more satisfying than anything she'd ever experienced in her life.

[[Author's Notes: Yaaaay!!! Dark skin tone babies!! I didn't realize how lax I was in giving the darker skin tones until I started playing my hood, and then I had to figure out how to marry some in! I was so disappointed when Takeru Tanaka had a lighter skin tone, but Taye and Zadie are answers to my prayers! Not only are they both completely adorable (Zadie is going to look like her mother, so I expect an awkward toddler/child phase), and I just couldn't be more delighted with this family. Zadie's name is a nod to Zadie Smith, the author, whom I love. This house is so dear to my heart.

The Villaloboses (C) - Round 6

Fresh out of college, Nerissa Chan and Catalina Villalobos decided it was time to make it official and purchase a house together. They already had a child together, and they knew they wanted to be together, so it was more a formality than a necessity to throw in their lots together for good.

What wasn't a formality, to them, was the idea of getting joined, in a formal ceremony, where they could once and for all proclaim their love and devotion for one another in front of family, friends, and loved ones.

Catalina made the proposal...

...and of course, Nerissa accepted. The ring was perfect. After so many years together, they knew their tastes like the back of their hands.

They gathered (with some passersby and onlookers), both in white dresses, in their new front yard to finally tie the knot.

They exchanged their vows, personally written...

...and their rings...

...and finally shared the kiss that joined them together officially in the eyes of the law, god, and everyone who knew them.

Of course, knowing Catalina, there could be no kind of cake ceremony without icing ending up all over Nerissa's face. Nerissa expected it, though, and it was one of the personality traits she loved most about Catalina, her playfulness. The wedding went off without a hitch, and they settled in to life together, with their son.

Guillermo was excelling at school, though he was a bit of a bully, Nerissa sensed.

He even brought home his cousin Marquez's girlfriend from school one day. Nerissa knew there was no harm in being friends, but she knew Guillermo could have an occasional mean streak and hoped he wouldn't try anything.

But Guillermo loved his cousin too much to try anything with Imelda, and they simply enjoyed playing lots and lots of soccer.

In light of how well Guillermo was doing in school, Nerissa and Catalina decided it was time to see about getting him entry into the local private school. They invited the headmaster and wowed him with their home.

Catalina's cooking certainly didn't hurt either, and though it was a simple meal of spaghetti, the headmaster thought it was delicious.

Guillermo was happily accepted into Rosebud Academy, where he could join the rest of his friends, who were mostly already there.

He immediately fell in with the sporty crowd, being the sports buff that he was. He played every sport the school offered and was even the quarterback for the football team. The adoration of the cheerleaders and the popularity he gained certainly didn't encourage him to be less of a bully, but Nerissa and Catalina did regularly, hoping the popularity wouldn't go to his head. He was a good boy, he just had a sort of enflamed version of his mother's playful bullying habits. Sometimes he missed the playful part.

Later on that season, Catalina came home to find that someone had left an old lamp on their front porch. She'd heard rumors about this sort of thing before but never had the chance to try it herself.

She gave it a rub, and to her surprise and pleasure, a genie popped out and asked her what she wanted. Fortune-minded sim that she was, she knew the answer was money. Not just because she craved the stuff but because they were pretty poor after having purchased the new house.

Almost instantaneously, a bag of money fell at her feet (almost on her head, to be precise). Ten thousand simoleons would go a long way in her investments and toward Guillermo's college education.

Perhaps having heard of the new-found riches in the Villalobos house, a burglar crept up the sidewalk and broke into the house.

The house had an alarm system, but unfortunately, the burglar managed to steal their tv before the police could get there and apprehend him.

A fight ensued, and sadly, the burglar won. Catalina tried to cheer up the defeated police officer, but she left in a hurry, embarrassed and sad, no doubt.

This is what Catalina does when I'm not watching her.

And then Linda comes and threatens to pummel her. Good job, Catalina.

Guillermo got a bit of an ego check at school, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. He hurt his hamstring, which kept him from playing football for a while, but it was enough to make Guillermo realize perhaps he wasn't as great as he frequently thought himself to be.

To entertain himself and in the hopes of getting a scholarship from it, Guillermo got a job as a security guard, which he loved dearly. He liked the responsibility and did a good job; plus, it gave him some extra spending money he didn't have to ask his moms for.

He still continued to be a good student, despite all the sports activities and work, though. Catalina and Nerissa knew they'd done a good job raising him to be a responsible, hard-working boy, and they hoped that after his hormonal teen years, his personality would even out a bit as well.

After lots of hunting, Nerissa finally found a job in her chosen career path as well. It would be nice to finally work on her lifetime goal of becoming an education minister.

The money from Nerissa's job would also come in handy...especially when the occasional unforseen expenses popped up. Catalina still waited for her ideal job, but slowly and surely, the Villalobos household was getting its act together.
