~*~*~*~*~

Last round at Aki's house, Aki came up against more hard luck. First he'd lost Tara, and then he lost his job. He decided he was in serious need of a vacation and quickly booked a flight to Twiikii Island. While there, he managed to meet a beautiful island woman named Daisy McCarthy, and he quickly fell in love with her in the romantic setting. He proposed, and she moved back to Rosebud with him, unaware that she was already carrying his child from their vacation fling. A short while later, their first son, Yoshi, was born, followed by Aki's birthday into elderhood. Let's see how this new family manages this round.

Daisy knew almost right away this time what was the cause of her nausea. After having her first child with Aki, Yoshi, she knew the symptoms of pregnancy. So she was pregnant again. It was shocking how fertile she seemed to be, yet she couldn't say she was unhappy. Nor was Aki when she broke the news to him.

Aki, for whatever reason, seemed to have turned around his bad luck permanently. Having returned to his law enforcement career upon coming back home to Rosebud, he now seemed to be experiencing the benefits of experience. The bonuses he achieved would put a nice chunk of change in the college funds for Yoshi and the new baby.

Daisy, a stay-at-home mom, spent a lot of her days and evenings in the lavish greenhouse Aki had built for her. While she appreciated how much money and effort he'd put into it, and also how quickly she became familiar with the skill of gardening, it was more than she could take care of alone.

It was especially difficult to maintain with this pregnancy. For some reason, she found herself constantly in pain, exhausted, hungry, and ALWAYS having to pee with this pregnancy. It was far harder than the walk in the park it had been before Yoshi was born. She almost had to consign herself to bedrest.

Soon, she began to show in earnest, and she couldn't have been happier that the miracle of childbirth was happening to her again. Even if it did mean that her back hurt and she could eat a horse at 9 a.m. At least the morning sickness was over!

It would be nice to have a baby in the house again, especially once Yoshi had his first birthday. He was now a rambunctious, playful toddler who kept his mommy and daddy on their toes.

Aki found himself enjoying his son even more now that he was a toddler. Sure, babies were cute, but Aki loved being able to interact with his son...his FIRST son...despite Aki's own age. It occurred to Aki that everything in life happened for a reason. He and Tara had never had children, and perhaps that was good. If it weren't for that sad split, he never would have met Daisy and had his little boy. As for Yoshi, he thrived on all the attention his daddy gave him.

Aki took to helping Daisy tend the garden, and when he did, he understood why she said it was so big. He promised her he would narrow it down to a more reasonable size right away. After all, they weren't trying to feed the entire town, just their family.

His plans for renovation would have to wait, though. One sunny summer afternoon, Daisy went into labor.

The result was a beautiful baby boy with Aki's skintone, black hair and brown eyes. They named him Akio, in honor of his father.

Shockingly, later that month, they had a visitor they never expected: the Repo Man. It seemed that between trying desperately to take care of Yoshi and the garden AND being slowed down by Daisy's rough pregnancy, the Tanakas had managed to forget to pay some of their bills.

They'd had plenty of money to pay their bills, but it made Aki realize that he was needed more at home, with his family, than at work. He quickly called up and retired, earning himself a healthy pension.

The second wake-up call of the season came when Daisy, after spending so much time in the massive garden, seemed to pick up some sort of plant disease that turned her skin green!

Fortunately, the local matchmaker and gypsy woman had a potion that would cure Daisy, but Aki set to work right away diminishing the size of the greenhouse to a more manageable size.

Daisy was unharmed by the incident save for the awful green outfit she got rid of immediately after returning to her former self.

These troublesome matters settled, Aki and Daisy had better and happier things to concentrate on. For one, their baby boy was about to become a child.

Yoshi grew up into a child that could only be described as "beautiful," despite his Y-chromosome. [[He also inherited a more appropriate skintone. I think it suits him so much better, as the previous one was lighter than either of his parents.]]

It was a big day for Akio as well, as he was about to enter the diapered crawling phase Yoshi had just left behind.

It was difficult to tell whether he favored his father or his mother most in terms of looks, but the fact that he was healthy was all that mattered to his parents...

...even if he was a little bit of a grump.

[[Author's Notes: Yay, I love new families, and I'm so relieved I fixed Yoshi's skintone. This was the first house I played where I attempted to change skintone color, so there was a little bit of hilarity you may notice where Yoshi's body color changed while his face remained pale. After a bit of research, I discovered that a trip to the mirror could correct this, and now he looks like a real boy again. I know his skintone is totally not even similar to his original one, but the way I sort of look at it is this: if their skintone came out all borked up because of bad geneticizing, then I reserve the right to choose something I want instead, and I wanted something that at least sort of reflected Daisy's genes. This family is loads of fun now that Aki and Tara aren't trying to suffer out an existence together. I may let them have one more child; not sure. Guess we'll see next round. :)

Bloopers:
This is why there was no transition picture for Yoshi's birthday to toddler. He looked like a little chimp! Also, Aki looks like he's having the time of his life, doesn't he? // The 'hood penguin is obviously confused about what hemisphere he's in...it's not cold in the summer in Rosebud, silly! ]]

The Villaloboses (D) - Round 12

Starring:

Dorotea Villalobos, Adult Family Sim, 2nd LTW Become Business Tycoon

Connor Villalobos, Adult Knowledge Sim, 2nd LTW Become City Planner

Nala Villalobos, Teen Knowledge Sim, LTW ?

~*~*~*~*~

Last round at the Villalobos house, Dorotea and Connor aged into elders and Nala aged into a teen. Zadie moved out with a ton of scholarships to join her brother, Taye, at Sim State. Connor almost burnt himself to death (and the house) in a grilled cheese accident. Dot retired to make sure she could prevent such accidents in the future. Let's check in on them!

Nala, like Zadie, was a popular girl at school. Not quite as popular as, say, Bijou Beaumont, but she did all right. Mostly she hung out with the jocks, having continued her childhood soccer hobby in high school by joining the team. She brought friends home at least once a week to hang out, and that usually involved games of some sort.

When she couldn't talk her friends into a good old fashioned shoot-out, she could always count on her mom, who was actually pretty darn good at sneaking the ball past her youngest daughter.

In her heart, Nala was a knowledge sim, though, just like her father. She spent hours studying and working on building her skills so that she could be at the head of her class. Being Valedictorian would not only be a great achievement for her, she knew her father would be immensely proud.

She could frequently be found lounging in her bathrobe after a shower with her nose stuck in a book, studying or doing homework.

Her father knew that she was bright, and they frequently had conversations about her grades, her potential for scholarships, and her eventual goals for when she got to college.

Nala had to admit, she liked being the only child left in the house. It meant that she always had her mom or her dad to help her with her studying or just keep her company, and she didn't have to share their attention with her older siblings. It was good to be the baby.

It was why her parents weren't surprised when she took it upon herself to call up the headmaster and invite him over. She knew that she could get into Rosebud Academy; not only on her own merits but because Taye and Zadie had gone before her.

Connor cooked up a dinner of filet mignon while Nala gave the headmaster the house tour, and they all sat down together to enjoy the meal. Dot put herself on "behind the scenes" duty, quietly cleaning up in the background and making sure the beds were made and no dust bunnies magically appeared during his visit.

At the end of the night, Zadie was admitted to private school, as she'd known she would be.

She continued on the path of skilling, delighted at the prospect of joining the same revered halls that had housed her brother and sister. It was nothing but success for young Nala.

Oh yeah, and also, Connor got a womrat.

[[Author's Notes: That's it for this house, folks! Nala is thoroughly enjoying being the last little darling left in the house, just like a youngest child. (I say this being the youngest child myself, and enjoying it thoroughly too, lol.) Connor got a womrat because he had a want for one and because I'd never had one in a sim house before. One tip if you ever do let your sims get one: don't put the cage in the bedroom. The little squeaky wheel keeps them up all night! Only one womrat-related blooper for you.

Blooper:
HELLLPPP, LEMMMEEE OUUUUTTTT!! It was funny, this animal did this a ton of times. He would like...jump up and cling to the side of the cage, then slide down it. It was pretty amusing. :) ]]

The Villaloboses (B) - Round 12

Starring:

Amber Villalobos, Elder Popularity Sim, 2nd LTW Become Captain Hero

Diego Villalobos, Elder Fortune Sim, 2nd LTW Become Space Pirate

~*~*~*~*~

Last round at the Villalobos house, Amber and Diego had to get used to the idea that their son Marquez would not be moving back into their home, and they did so by continuing to keep good contact with him. Diego decided that he wanted to build a bowling alley/party space in the basement to entertain guests. He and Amber both transitioned well into elder-hood. This round: Amber tries desperately to get a wishing well and Diego pretty much supports her in her efforts. Let's check in.

Every night when Diego came home from work, he brought with him Connor Villalobos, his sisters husband and his own brother-in-law. Connor was pretty good at bowling, but Diego was determined to beat him one of these days.

In addition to working and trying to up his bowling average, Diego decided to help his wife achieve one of her biggest goals: to not only be a member of the garden club, but to be a prestigious one who had earned the very rare wishing well gift they gave to their premier members. He was working so hard to help her that he ended up gaining gardening knowledge he had never sought in the first place!

Amber kept trying her luck with the garden club throughout the summer season, inviting them over often. She always received many compliments, but she seemed to always fall short of actually achieving her goal of earning a wishing well.

She was primarily a food-gardener, and when the garden club left their comments for her, it occurred to her that she may have to branch out into flower gardening in order to truly impress them. It wasn't something she had an interest in, but if it earned her a wishing well, she would do it, and well.

In the meantime, between their jobs and tending Amber's garden, she and her hubby spent a lot of time fishing in the small pond at the back of the lot. It was relaxing, and it allowed them to catch up on the latest news they had to share with one another.

She talked him into going fishing with her so much that Diego soon could be found by the pond all by himself, catching the freshest food of the day and starting to become a real fishing afficionado.

He was also starting to become a better gardener. Though Amber knew his true passion wasn't plants and flowers and fish, the dedication Diego showed to helping her toward her cause made her heart swell to know that this was her husband. They'd always been a good team, and they always would be.

[[Author's Notes: Not much to say here. Never had a sim get a wishing well before, and it seemed like a fun goal to try with Amber and Diego. They're boring elders, but a nature hobby always keeps me more interested than most. Next round, they're going to try to get that darned garden club reward before winter sets in. No clue how that goal will work out. Only one blooper!

Blooper:
That may be, Diego, but don't forget to keep an eye on your chicken statue!!!! ]]

The Villaloboses (C) - Round 12

Starring:

Nerissa Villalobos, Adult Knowledge Sim, 2nd LTW Become Mad Scientist

Catalina Villalobos, Vampire Fortune Sim, 2nd LTW Become World Class Ballet Dancer

~*~*~*~*~

Last round in the Villalobos household, the primary event was Catalina becoming a vampire thanks to her childhood stalker, Vasyl Hogan. Nerissa really wanted Catalina either to be cured or to become a vampire herself, but sadly, this isn't in the plan. Let's see how they get on this round.

Cat, fortune sim that she was, refused to give up her job. She couldn't give up the lucrative source of money in being a famous movie star. Besides, there were plenty of roles for vampires, and it wasn't that hard to convince stupid Simmywood directors that she was simply VERY good at this type of role through hard work. So every afternoon, she raced to the helicopter and came home in under the cloak of safe darkness.

Her personality didn't change much, though she definitely spent more time at the piano than she ever would have while a human. Something about classical music appealed to her more than she could have ever imagined now; plus, it chased the loneliness away when Catalina wasn't around to do it for her.

She still longed to enjoy the pleasures she did as a human being, and these cravings she indulged under cover of night. She did things that she knew were totally untraditional to the stereotype of vampires like herself, but they gave her pleasure, so she indulged anyway.

She had never been one to be particularly concerned with rules when she was alive, so flouting them in eternal death didn't really seem like such a chore for her.

[[Gratuitious HOLY MOTHER OF HOT VAMPS shot!]]

She and Nerissa were still in love, too. Once Nerissa was gone, Catalina knew she would be heartsick, but she also knew, somehow, that she would continue on with a stony stoicism. It didn't mean she wouldn't appreciate her beautiful wife as long as she could, though, without concern as to who might object.

Vasyl became a sometime-lover. He wasn't the most gorgeous of men, and Cat wasn't exactly into men to begin with, but he was her sire and had a power over her that she could never deny.

It wasn't always about Catalina, though. In truth, she thought her heart would break the day she cheered Nerissa into her elderhood.

Catalina would always find her first and truest love beautiful, no matter how many wrinkles she acquired, but she knew that her new status would mean parting with Nerissa someday. It was a severe price to pay for immortality.

In an attempt to mollify her guilt for the inevitable fact that she would outlive Nerissa by centuries, Catalina spoiled her. "Do whatever you desire, my truest love," was the repeated sugar whispered into Nerissa's ear as they slept together.

Nerissa, tired from a life of working hard, quit her job and decided that spending her remaining days with Catalina was the most important thing she could do. Catalina couldn't have agreed more.

[[Author's Notes: Pretty short and sweet here. I am feeling a little guilty about letting Nerissa die while Catalina lives on, so I may allow them to have one more baby together before Nerissa dies. It will help alleviate my guilt, m'kay? Besides, I swear they can make a better-looking baby than Guillermo, lol. Not sure what else to say here other than Catalina is so pretty that I'm really glad I decided to make her immortal. Only a few bloopers for you!

Bloopers:
Count Vasyl is a service sim? Well, either he works in a drive-through, or this is an ironic label, like, "He is a service sim because he serviced me." // He asked if he could bring a friend, not a family reunion! Count Vasyl, I never knew! ]]
